Original Six Stanley

The Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins are meeting for the first time ever in the Stanley Cup Finals. A statistical oddity given the six-team league the NHL sported for 25 years.
This is the first Original Six Final since the Montreal Canadiens defeated the New York Rangers in five games in 1979. Since the League expanded for the 1967-68 season, there have been six Original Six matchups in the Final, all of them coming between 1971 and 1979.
The last time the two teams played each other was on October 15, 2011. The Bruins took the game in a shootout 3-2. There was one bout, pictured above, between Gregory Campbell and Jamal Mayers.
